Returning Empty Kegs and Casks: What You Need to Know

To help keep your storage areas clear and our kegs in circulation, we aim to collect empty containers on a like-for-like basis during your regular delivery. For example, if you're receiving 7 full kegs, our draymen will plan to collect 7 empties in return.
To support a smooth and efficient collection process, please ensure the following:
- Have all empties ready and neatly stacked in an accessible location.
- Separate Carlsberg Britvic empties from those of other suppliers. This makes it quicker and easier for our draymen to identify and collect the correct containers.
Please ensure all empty casks are corked and pegged before collection to prevent any residue from spilling onto our vehicles upon return.
While our teams will do their best to collect all empties, space on the delivery vehicle is sometimes limited. In those cases, only like-for-like quantities may be collected.
If your scheduled empties weren’t collected, or if you have additional kegs or casks to return, you can request a surplus uplift easily on our Help Centre.
Simply 'Submit a request' at the top right corner of your screen and select 'Request an Empties Collection', or click here.
You can also place an empties collection when placing your order via your Carl’s Shop ordering account:
1. Go to the 'Technical Equipment' category when placing your next order.
2. Select the relevant container and number of empties you'd like us to collect and add to your basket.
3. Complete your order as usual.
This helps us plan ahead and ensure your containers are collected promptly.
